Aqua Shard
This incredibly challenging project took place in early 2020.
The client had commissioned a complete refurbishment of all the front-of-house areas to this venue on the 31st floor of The Shard – a fit-out we had completed originally in 2013. The challenge was the requirement to keep the restaurant downtime to an absolute minimum (this was before the enforced shutdowns that followed as a result of Covid 19…if only we’d known!).
Phase 1 of the £1.8m refurbishment, comprising the reception area and the main dining spaces, was completed after just 20 days. Phase 2, including the main bar and private dining areas, was handed back after another three weeks.
In addition to the new bar and private dining rooms, the works included complete retiling of the restaurant floor, redecorations, lighting, and wall features, all designed by Fabled Studios.
The successful delivery of the project in the limited time available was made possible by the detailed and lengthy pre-construction and procurement period.
