Bumpkin Restaurant - South Kensington

This six week, fast track conversion of an old unoccupied 4,000sq.ft. restaurant into "Bumpkin" - Ignite Group's latest brand of stylish eatery in Old Brompton Road, South Kensington, was completed in September 2008.

Design Brief - Fusion's brief was to develop the Bumpkin theme from their existing Notting Hill site, but aimed at the slightly different South Kensington customer.  The area is less edgy and clientele probably more banker than media type.  With this in mind the design scheme, though coming from a similar direction is calmer and slightly less quirky.  Notwithstanding this, the scheme is an eclectic mix of a newly built hardwood bar with luxurious marble top and shabby old shop storage counter that has been adapted to be used as a dresser style waiter station.

As the budget was fairly limited, the challenge was to utilize as many of the sites existing features and work with these to produce the effortless scheme.

WFC won the contract in a competitive tender and project managed the entire contract, including co-ordinating the services and specialist sub-contractors together with undertaking all fitting-out.  Joinery was developed and pre-fabricated at WFC's 30,000sq.ft. workshop.

Based on the performance at Bumpkin, WFC has recently been approached to tender a number of projects for Fusion Design.
