WFC Scoops Four National Industry Awards

WFC's work on the prestigious Manchester235 Casino has been recognised with four leading industry awards in 2007. In addition to winning the esteemed industry award from the National Association of Shopfitters, the company has also won three separate Shopfitting and Display Industry Awards (SADI).

The NAS Design Partnership award recognises excellence in interior design and contracting, with particular emphasis on partnership between designer/architect and contractor. The SADI awards recognise excellence in standards of design, manufacture and supply of interiors and equipment as well as in standards of workmanship, service and creativity in fit-out. WFC was winner in the Best Non Retail Project and Innovation in Skills categories, qualifying them to enter and subsequently win the Grand Prix Outlet and Environment award. This is the first year that WFC has entered a project for these awards.

The Manchester235 project involved an £11m fit-out of a grade 2 listed building, covering an impressive 40,000 sq ft, which was transformed into one of the most highly specified casinos in the country. All the materials were manufactured in WFC's workshops in Devon, by their skilled team of craftsmen who specialise in producing high quality joinery, metalwork and electrical installations.

Commenting on their success, Steve Howle, Director of WFC, said: "These awards recognise the craftsmanship and dedication of our team; we are thrilled to have our work commended in this way. Manchester235 was an extremely ambitious project, working to a tight deadline, within the confines of a listed building. The finished result is a credit to all those involved."
