Gibraltar Gala Coral

Interior consultants and contractors WFC have completed their first major European contract, the 35,000 square foot Gala Coral development in Gibraltar. The seven month project to fit out the new £6million site was completed on time and on budget.
WFC have a well-established relationship with the Gala Coral Group, working on over ten UK sites for them in the past three years. As the main contractor, WFC were responsible for the £1.8million interior fit-out of the development which is in Gibraltar's exciting new Ocean Village.
The site will offer a number of unmatchable gaming experiences over two floors including casino & poker magic, 450 seated bingo hall, Coral sports lounge, jackpot zones along with two bars and a restaurant. Designed by Belper based Fisch Design, work started on the concept in November 2005, with the client brief to re-create Gala's distinctive brand within this new waterside development.
From the reception area which has a stunning back lit wall feature you are guided through an eye catching giant stainless steel G leading you into the main floor. Visitors set foot on a 33 mm thick curving illuminated glass walkway which weaves itself around the gaming areas and one of the venues main features, the 18° Below Ice Bar.
The state of the art Ice Bar has a corian counter which is filled with water and frozen, creating a sparkling line of ice to keep your drinks cool. Behind the bar is a distinctive curved wall which is back lit resulting in a dramatic visual effect.
Hand crafted black slate tops feature in the upstairs Champagne Bar whilst the length of the wall is back lit creating another stunning backdrop. Next door in the Grille restaurant the outside terrace has been covered in 1120 sq ft of hardwood creating a wonderful decked eating area enjoying views across the marina.
Throughout the venue stainless steel balustrading with glass infills feature, creating a modern and contemporary feel. The balustrading was produced by WFC's specialist fabricating division Simply Metal.
The majority of these manufactured goods were produced at WFC's workshops, palleted and shipped to Gibraltar. All of the venues hardwood doors and skirting boards, receptions desks and bars were produced in WFC's 20,000sq ft Neat Joinery workshop.
